Snowpack structure (2026-03-13):
Some snow has fallen in the Allgäu Alps and in the Western Lechtal Alps. Little snow has fallen on the Main Alpine Ridge and to the north. Above approximately 2000 m: Avalanche prone weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack on west, north and east facing slopes. Towards its surface, the snowpack consists of faceted crystals, especially on shady slopes. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. Below approximately 2000 m: The old snowpack will be moist. |
